Patch for purists or morrowind patch project
MOP fixes a number of meshes that are not good for performance and Project Atlas reduces draw calls by replacing a bunch of meshes with ones that use atlased textures and also give you some nice rounded objects (optional) in the process Morrowind Optimization Patch - Modding OpenMW: A guide to MOP and Project Atlas especially for performance. Patch for Purists, Morrowind Optimization Patch, and Project Atlas is a good start. The Morrowind engine is actually pretty good when it comes to handling high-polygon objects and especially collision shapes, which unfortunately cannot be said for OpenMW (yet). Many people still believe that the amount of polygons is important for performance, but that hasn't been true for quite some time now. Added Clean Alpha Textures and Lake Fjalding Anti-Suck as optional files It demonstrates perfectly why Morrowind is very poorly optimized for modern systems and why OpenMW struggles to get good performance. Big update containing optimized meshes for particles, lights, magic effects and propylon chambers as well as several fixes for vanilla meshes. Make sure to install this after both Weapon Sheathing and MOP Fix for OpenMW users. This will make weapon sheaths show the fixed MOP weapon meshes instead of the vanilla ones. Weapon Sheathing Patch: This module is a compatibility patch between MOP and Weapon Sheathing. This module will not work with OpenMW and replacers. This module provides dedicated meshes for distant land generation meant to be used with MGE XE. Featured In Mod Lists: Expanded Vanilla, I Heart Vanilla, I Heart Vanilla: Director's Cut, Graphics Overhaul, Total Overhaul.
